Dr Sportoletti is Associate Professor and Consultant at the Hematology Section at the University of Perugia, Italy. He completed his education training under the supervision of Professor Falini, a widely-recognized expert in the field of lymphomas and leukemias and between 2006 to 2009, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow with Dr Pandolfi in New York and Boston. Dr Sportoletti has co-authored 96 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Dr Sportoletti is also a translational hematologist and, notably, made the seminal discovery of the NOTCH1 mutation as an adverse prognostic factor in CLL.
