Raffaele Palmieri is currently based at the Department of Biomedicine and Prevention, Tor Vergata University of Rome, Italy. He is also Affiliate Investigator at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Institute, Seattle, Washington, USA.
From October 2019 to April 2020, he conducted a clinical and a research internship at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Institute/Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (Seattle, WA). In November 2020 he completed his training in Hematology with honors in Rome, discussing the thesis entitled “Accuracy of SIE/SIES/GITMO Consensus Criteria for Unfitness to Predict Early Mortality After Intensive Chemotherapy in Adults with AML or Other High-Grade Myeloid Neoplasm”.
In 2020, Professor Palmieri has been the winner of the 2020 ASH/SIE Abstract Achievement Award for the paper entitled “Validation of ELN2017 risk stratification in a post-hoc analysis of the prospective biomarker-based GIMEMA AML1310 protocol”. His clinical and research activities are mainly focused on AML, Myelodysplastic Syndromes, Myeloproliferative Disorders, and Measurable Residual Disease. He has actively participated in more than 70 papers (peer-reviewed journals, International and National Meeting publications).
