Dr Luminari received his degree in Medicine from the “’Università degli Studi di Milano” Milano, Italy, where he also specialized in hematology. Between 2002 and 2006 Dr Luminari completed a research contract in oncology at the “Università degli studi di Modena” and since 2006 has been Assistant Professor in Medical Oncology.
In 2003 Dr Luminari was Visiting Assistant Professor in the Oncology/Hematology division of the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, Chicago (IL); USA. He also completed a CITI 1-Core Course in the protection of human research subjects of biomedical research as part of the Collaborative IRB Training Initiative (CITI), sponsored by the University of Miami (FL), USA.
In 2004 he was awarded the G Luppi Prize (Modena) and in 2005 the ORCA Prize (Optimizing Research in Cancer Anemia) (Nizza, Francia). Dr Luminari has (co-)authored 38 journal articles published in peer reviewed international journals and several abstracts/posters presented at national/international meetings.
